We ordered food from here on Dashmi, we were excited to taste the food but we were so dissatisfied. We ordered mutton biryani and chicken biryani which came with side dish and a dessert. The rice was not cooked properly and the mutty was so hard. The gravy side dish was tasteless. The dessert don’t know what it was called was full of oil. Overall a pathetic experience.
A very unique themed restaurant at Barasat, as the name suggests they only serve Burmese cuisine, and it was my first time for Burmese foods, I ordered Khaw Mun How- it’s basically butter/ghee rice served with some green salad, chicken stew pieces and chicken stalk and a special Burmese sauce. It’s a very mild, non spicy dish and I guess the nutrition value is high too, as no such gravy and spices are involved. So, it’s different and I liked it very much. As a dessert I tried Yei Baw- a sweet coconut based cold dessert, I didn’t like it that much, but for the Khaw Mun How I gave a five star rating. Also, the owner insisted me to try the Danbauk which is the Burmese Biryani. So, as a Biryani lover I tried their Danbauk too, it was okay-ish, not that great compared to the Biryanis we use to have in Kolkata, but it was different, Burmese touch. The soup Mohinga is a good one to try, so if you are in Barasat and want to try something different this outlet is a must visit.
We ordered a noodle fritter and a mango shake (sadly I forgot the name, I could barely pronounce one).Ambience: *****I always love a cosy, quiet place after a day’s hassle. This place is pure perfection for me that way. The servers are polite, but without overdoing it (which is a major plus point). They’ll even help you through the menu because, if you are like me, you’re practically illiterate once that menu comes in.Food: ***It’s not too exquisite, not too bland. I love imperfections and the noodle fritter really brought out a comforting feeling. Unlike this, the mango shake (I still can’t remember the name) is like some people I meet in my life. Sweet to the point of barfing. It’s hideous. It will be the prettiest drink you’ll see, but don’t fall for the trap. Get yourself a cup of burmese tea instead, that will refresh whichever remaining tastebud you could salvage from the mango shake.Overall, I love the place. Perfect for a cheap getaway, not too well known to be a date site for teenagers. Heaven for bitter loners like me.
We order Mohinga with Egg ( Price 130 /- ) and Rice noodle in veg soup with coconut milk ( Price 100/- )Food is amazing , You love it .Clear and good environment.Setting place is cool .I face one issue that was Time take for the cook .
I went there with my friends on 24th Feb. It’s a nice cozy place with beautiful decor. We ordered Tofu noodles fritters for starters. It was perfection on plate. The outer covering was crispy and soft and tender inside. The filling was well seasoned and full of flavours. For mains we had Burmese biryani, which was like our usual biryani but instead of having one chunky piece of meat and potato each,it had several small pieces of meat and potatoes. The dish was well prepared and was tasty. We also had Burmese mutton curry which was a disappointment. The gravy was nice but the mutton itself was undercooked, the fat was not rendered properly and was not fork tender. For desserts we had Burmese baklava, which was good but not the best I have had.It was subtly sweet as it should be. The assortment of nuts was also perfectly sweet neither bland nor sickly sweet. Overall it was a good experience, and I will recommend people to give it a try.
