Ordered a few items – alu vaja, fulkopi rosa & mutton curry.The fulkopi rosa was excellent – very well made with some dried red chillies and peas.The alu vaja had become soggy – no crunch because of too much oil.The mutton curry was really bland with a peculiar aroma – mutton pieces were fine.Just for their excellent fulkopi, i am giving them 4 stars.
Good for families getting together to have food. Charges are a little bit on the steeper side, but the food makes it all worth it! Especially the pulao is fragrant and unique. Damn good!
I will he honest. I have been here only once or twice but I loved how they presented the dishes. Whenever I am craving something bengali, my go to place would be Mouchak Bangaliana. However, I wish they made the dining hall more spacious. The quality of the food is kind of okay-ish, it could have been better.
The shukto was very good and fulkopir rossa was also excellent. Quantity was enough for two people.food tasted exactly like what bengali food should taste.very nice.
We had a get together in Barasat and we wanted to have some authentic bengali cuisine in the midst of rising temperature outside. One of the friend suggested us to visit this joint but warned us that this is a Non AC joint. We went to this place and didn’t find any issues even if it is not air conditioned. We decided to be on fish and we started our order of Basmati Rice along with Sabji Dal, Alu Jhinge Posto, Alu Fulkopir Rosa and Enchor Chingri. The food over here is of brilliant quality but the only thing which can be improved os their quantity. They maintain a very low quantity of those mouth watering dishes which will prompt you to take another plate of the same. We then ordered Bagda Malaikari, Vetki Paturi and Chitol Mach er peti. The Chitol mach was the best one I have ever tried with a spicy and red curry. I would love to taste the Chitol mach cooked in here again if I have to have lunch in Barasat.
1. There is no Macher Matha on Macher Matha diye dal. & taste is not up to the mark. 2*2. Chutney!!! (Waste of money) as quantity and quality. 1*3. Only good thing is Sukto 4* only for Sukto.
