Visited this place with my parents last month for dinner. Ambience was good, but crowded as it was christmas week. We had to wait for 30-40mins to get the table. We ordered a hot and sour soup with tofu, chicken and coriander dumpling, steamed indian seabass in spicy blackbean sauce, spicy har gau, chicken friedrice, spicy seafood noodles and raspberry delice for desert. We loved the spicy har gau and the soup. I didn’t like the noodles and the dumpling, it was below average and overpriced. Desert was really good. Waiters were cordial but they charge a huge service tax on top of sgst. I felt this place didn’t match upto my expectations, there are better places for asian food in Kolkata.:)
Yauatcha, Kolkata, the patisserie of which boasts an extensive range of desserts, all inspired by Chinese heritage and ingredients. Raspberry Delice : Raspberry dark chocolate mousse, lychee brownie and hazelnut pannacotta, in a stunning rose shape. Its fruity flavours and textures definitely makes it a unique birthday cake. ⭐⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⠀⠀Manish Malhotra x Yauatcha Macarons : A limited edition haute desserts collection by Yauatcha celebrating the festivities of India with its myriad of flavors and custom gift boxes. Flavours range from blueberry, and mascarpone to coconut and hazelnuts, you’ll be sure to find something you love! ⭐⭐️⭐⭐⭐️⠀⠀
This is probably one of the best Japanese Restaurants at Kolkata & one of my personal favourite restaurants.Located on the 5th floor of Quest Mall,Yautcha has an absolutely amazing ambience themed with Japanese fine-dining style.I didn’t opt for the Al-a-carte yet.I went with their ‘Meat select’ set menu which is quite reasonable priced there. This menu includes:1)Soup2)Salad3)3types of Dumplings 4)Jasmine rice with 1maincourse dish5)Jasmine Tea6)A Dessert from the menuI personally recommend you to go for the Chocolate Pebbel & Chocolate hazelnut mouse.(These were out of the world)
I was somewhat disappointed by Yauatcha. The experience was not exactly bad, but i feel it did not quite meet the bar I would expect from such a place. The dim sum was good. Our server suggested Chicken wrapped in Pak Choi & Prawn Cheung Fun. The chicken was good & the cheung fun was scrumptious. But we didn’t like the green tea that was recommended (Mogo Mogo). The main course was also a let down. Singapore fried noodles tasted awful. Roast pork & shrimp rice was better, but the portion of pork & shrimp in the dish was minuscule. Thankfully the Red Fruit Fromage we had for dessert was a lot better & somewhat made up for the lacklustre mains. As for decor & ambience, the designers seemed to have gone for an understated sophisticated look, which works. I recommend getting a table by the glass front if possible, the view is nice. Service was decent.

This is one of the best places in the city to dig into a scrumptious Asian fare! The decor is very sleek and minimalistic and is aided by a great view of the South Kolkata skyline. The servers are courteous and are helpful and ready with suggestions. And the food with its myriad subtle flavours is amazing! They serve some great dumplings. We had the chicken wrapped in pak choy with Schezwan sauce and the lamb roll in black pepper sauce. Both were great, I especially recommend the Lamb roll in black pepper sauce. Then we had the aromatic chicken fried rice (we opted out of the spicy XO sauce) and took the braised chicken cooked in claypot and the Xinjiang lamb curry. Both the curries were delicious. In dessert, we ordered the chocolate pebble and chocolate hazelnut mousse. Both tasted great!
