This place is an emotion for all the Calcuttans. But practically speaking, the quality has degraded a lot. The service is not prompt. Had Fish Fry, Chocken Cutlet, Coffee. Taste was good..Overall not a bad experience.
Coffee house! Kolkata & Coffey house. College street without coffee house is complete. This place has it’s own charm.A great place to feel the city of joy.In frame -1. Hot coffee2. Cold coffee with cream3. Fish cutlet4. Fish kavirajiThis is not only coffee house, it is an emotion.
A heritage coffee shop in college street. Food is average. Service is slow. Still the place remains so much crowded that you may be asked to leave the place immediately after bill payment. Their cold coffee with cream is my all time favourite. Other food items not recommended that much. But a visit is worthy when in college street because of the heritage factor and the overall ambience.
Went back to coffee house after a couple of years. This place has given birth to many a literary legend and brews a million stories everyday.Coming to the food, i was disappointed by the baked fish since it had a very thick coating. The mutton omelet lacked salt, though it was fulfilling. The mutton kobiraji and mutton sandwich was good. Loved the cold coffee and chicken sandwich. All snacks are priced below 100 bucks.
College Street and Coffee House has an eternal love story. Am I right? So today when I was howling alone in college Street, I just went to have breakfast and ordered an infusion and vegetable sandwich. The place where you get a plenty amount of food in very less bucks.
The place has a charm of its own. The old decor, the rugged furnitures and the old menu all have their own importance in the history of the place. People spend hours here chatting away or reading newspapers sipping over a cup of tea. Their best tradition kept alive are there waiters, who are all dressed up in full white with turbans to compliment the look. Later after going through the menu, I ordered for their famous Fish Kabiraji which is typically a fish cutlet wrapped in a lacy egg net and a cold coffee to go with. They were severed soon enough. The Kabiraji was cooked to perfection and the Mustard sauce served alongside elevated the taste a notch higher. It couldn’t have been served better.
