Recently tried some delicious from this food joint located near Salt Lake City Centre. As they have Galouti in the name as result they serve really drooling kebabs -Here are some recommendations of mine -• Chicken Shami Kebab• Mutton Galouti Kebab (served with hot soft parathas )• Chicken Kathi Roll• Chicken Kathi BiryaniAll the items are available in an affordable pocket pinch though the outlet is small but serves fresh food and specially thw green chutney they serves is purely Homemade. It will surely worth a visit
Galouti has recently launched their new outlet at saltlake area just beside of city centre 1. Most of us know about the delicious Galouti Kebab of this place ; this is their speciality. But on the previous day I tried their chicken Shammi Kebab and Kathi biriyani ; both were just superb. Shammi Kebab was so soft & juicy also the flavour spices were just on point. Kathi biryani consists of 7-8 pieces of tender chicken Kathi kebab along with a humble piece of aloo and more than sufficient amount of rice for one. They have limited sitting arrangement outside of the kiosk so takeaway or delivery can be the best option for you.
Enjoy flavours from Lucknow on the go , from galouti .Located in front of city centre at Salt Lake sector 1 , this is a small stall serving delicious kebabs, rolls and biryanis . They have a few chairs placed in front of the stall for customers. Other than that don’t expect much of sitting arrangements from a pop up restaurant.Although awadhi cuisine has gained a lot of popularity with the growth of restaurant industry at Kolkata , most of us still don’t know the difference between mughlai and awadhi cuisine . Mughlai food is basically known for its richness due to the use of lots of spices, dry fruits, Awadhi on the other hand doesn’t have that much use of spices but some special, uncommon ones. An awadhi kebab is cooked on a tawa whereas a relatively popular mughlai kebab is grilled in a tandoor .I tried a few selective dishes from their menu which nailed the concept of the place . The items that i would like to mention specially are as followsFrom the kebab section , the very famous Galauti kebab didn’t fail to impress me. This famous kebab is made mostly from minced mutton with added spices that have a super smooth texture which melts in the mouth. Pairing it with a lachcha parantha would be the best option. The lachcha paranthe are really soft and not crispy which i personally favour. That means it has less of oil .Also had their chicken Shammi kebabs , a similar preparation with minced chicken replacing the mutton . They were equally satisfying. Each plate of galauti has 4 pieces of kebab and each plate of Shami has 5 pieces of chicken kebab .Next we had their chicken Kathi rolls . Some good amount of Kathi chicken stuffed inside big sized paranthe . Every bite of the roll will make you fall in love with the place.Next up , was the Kathi biryani which is again something interesting , 7 to 8 pieces of small sized Kathi chicken with semi gravy poured over biryani rice along with a potato makes it a wholesome meal . You can have your biryani paired with awadhi egg curry .This egg preparation has boiled eggs served in a rich and thick gravy with lots of awadhi spices creating a magical flavour . You can have this with lachcha paranthe as well. They are also serving kebab combos priced at 135 where you get two pieces of mutton galauti with lachcha paranthe and gulab jamun. This one is something I would suggest you when you are low on budget and want to have a quick yet fulfilling meal.My picks for the place are the galauti kebabs , Kathi biryani , lachcha with awadhi egg and the kebab combo
The Chicken kathi Biryani is quite a star. I feel it’s a little underrated but it is amazing. It’s a must try guys, very different from the usual Kolkata biryani. The lacchas they use for the juicy rolls are amazing, they aren’t greasy and won’t give you a bad feeling. A big thumbs up. afoodfulday.wordpress.com
