I have visited Tung Num many times. I love this place because of the cozy family ambience. This place is effortlessly run by Suzi and her husband. They have a wholesome Chinese menu. We ordered friend chicken wontons, swezwan fried rice and Pork hamai sauce. Everything was delicious. I like fried wontons more than the streamed ones. The price is very reasonable as compared to the quality they offer. We had three items at around 600 INR.
Just a single word, delicious, when it comes to food over here. Ambience is nothing great but who cares when the food is so tasty. They do not charge any additional gst and the portion is so good for two. We ordered pork wonton soup which had 10 wontons, dry chili pork, pork manchurian and pork fried rice. The total was 680. Really cheap.

I am kinda privileged to have my office at Poddar Court, which is 1 min away from this great place.. so most of the days we drop in for lunch at Tung Nam.. my favorite dish here is Dry Chilli Pork, a must must mussstt try for pork lovers.. also Mixed Meifoon with pork is another favorite of mine.. both quality and quantity of the food here is unbeatable..
If you want to experience authentic Chinese delicacies, without burning a hole in your pocket, this is the place you should visit. We were a group of 5 people, and ordered every meat we could and the bill came around Rs 2300. Needless to say every dish we tasted was amazing and huge in quantity. If you wish to get this gastronomical experience, remember to reach before 2pm, as it shuts at 3pm.
কিছু জিনিসের প্রতি ভালোবাসা চিরন্তন, এই যেমন ধরুন চিনে খাবার আর টুং নাম।কোলকাতায় পুরোনো চাইনিজ দোকানের মধ্যে অন্যতম, এখানে কোনো সাজসজ্জার বিলাসিতা নেই আছে শুধু অকৃত্রিম স্বাদের বাহারি খাবার। তাই মাঝে মধ্যেই বাই ওঠে চলো টুং নামে যাই একটু চিলি পর্ক খাই।ছবিতে আছে:◆ Pepper Chicken◆ Dry Chili Pork◆ Salt and Pepper Chickenব্যাস এই টুকুই, প্রতিবার যাই আর আমায় দেখেই পর পর এই তিনটি দিয়ে যায়। তারপরে জিজ্ঞেস করে মেন কোর্স কিছু নেব কিনা?ক্ষিদের ওপরে নির্ভর করে একেকদিন একেকরকম খাবার নেই, তবে সেটা অবশ্যই একটা প্লেট দু-তিন জন মিলে খেতে হবে।◆Chicken/Mixed Shezuan Fried Rice◆Chicken/Mixed Hakka Noodlesতবে এখানের সব থেকে প্রিয় ও বেশি জনপ্রিয়◆Chicken/Mixed Gravy NoodlesMixed মানে এখানে কিন্তু পর্ক দিয়েই বোঝেন, সুতরাং আগে ভাগে বলবেন পর্ক না চাইলে।সাথে গ্রেভি লাগলে◆Chicken in Hamai Sauce (এটাই একমাত্র আমি খাই, এতটাই প্রিয়, ঝাল ঝাল ও ফিশ সসের মতন টেস্টে মন খুশি করে দেয়। তবে কারোর যদি শুকটি মাছ জাতীয় গন্ধে সমস্যা থাকে নেবেন না কারণ এটা খেতে দুর্দান্ত হলেও কটু গন্ধে অনেকের বিড়ম্বনার সৃষ্টি হয়। আমি কোলকাতার কোনো দোকানে এই নামের কোনো পদ পাইনি তাই এখানে এটা ছাড়া মুশকিল)◆ Chicken/Fish/Pork/Prawn with (Hot Garlic/Chili/Manchurian/Mushroom and Babycorn) নিতেই পারেন আপনার স্বাদের ওপরে নির্ভর করে।আবার বলছি, এতটাই পরিমান যে এক শেষ করা অসম্ভব তাই দুজনে যাবেন বা বাকিটা ফেলে না দিয়ে বাড়ি নিয়ে চলে আসবেন।কোনই রেটিং দেব না, ঠিকানা পোদ্দার কোর্টের পিছনে, সেন্ট্রাল মেট্রো স্টেশন দিয়ে সোজা মহারানা প্রতাপের মূর্তির ঠিক পাস দিয়ে। মঙ্গলবার বার বন্ধ থাকবে ও সময় দুপুরে ১২-৩ ও বিকেলে ৬.৩০-১০টা#spoonsnforks#diariesofdru#eatwellbewell
This place really takes the idea of small and large to a different level- because a small bowl of soup is large n a large bowl of soup is LARGE!We ordered a small bowl of Pork Wonton soup.The wontons were just too delicious and not soggy at all.Then the spring chicken was such a contrast to the soup. The main course was delicious too.One plate of Mixed tossed Mei Foon was more than enough for two people.Pork in Hamei sauce was savoury.Great food at very reasonable cost.(4 items,sufficient for two people,cost rs530)P.S-do not judge the place by the looks and decor,the food definitely makes up for the lack of lustre there.Can’t wait to be back soon.ADDITION:- I was here this afternoon,the shabby walls have been replaced by shiny tiles. There are few more tables now. 🙂 Food was still the same.AWESOME.
