We landed at Lunar after a strong recommendation by the owner of our homestay and weren’t disappointed at all.Location. Mall road entrance. You’ll have to walk some distance before reaching LR. It’s an uphill walk from Darjeeling main to reach MR.Ambience: Very relaxing, neat & clean but nothing extraordinary.Menu: Standard mix of North Indian, Indian Chinese and South Indian optionsStaff: Polite and courteousFood Quality: This was the highlight. It’s actually good. We loved it so much that we came back again. Try chicken manchow soup. My fav!!Rates: Equivalent to Delhi
This place is located near to Ramada in Darjeeling Chowk.Went to this place for dine-in on Sunday evening. All the tables were almost full, we luckily got a table.Pros-> Polite and courteous staff> Good Ambience> Clean utensils> Quick Service> Excellent Location> Food was good as compared to other indian cuisine restaurants in the locality.> Tawa roti was cooked properly.Cons> Food is good but there is huge room for improvement> No onion . You have to buy an onion salad which costs ₹75.The pricing of a few dishes might seem to be on a higher side but the pricing is fine if we take service ambience and location of the outlet.
I feel it was a great restaurant for veg people in this city. We had ordered chilly panerr, aloo gobhi for us in food. In breads we had taken laccha paratha and garlic nan. Everything was pretty good.
A long trip in the North East might make you feel that the world of food starts and ends at Momos and Maggi. That is when a place like ‘Lunar’ in Darjeeling will make you believe that there is more to food than that.We were amazed to have authentic South Indian food in this place. The idli sambar was refreshing. Their North Indian sabzi and fulka are also lip-smacking. The restaurant is almost always bustling with tourists and the well-appointed uniformed staff are quick at service. This is one of the best places to have vegetarian food in Darjeeling. The ambience is decent. The service is good. The washrooms are clean. They do not accept credit cards. They charge 5% GST on food bill. An average meal for 2 should cost around Rs 600.Taste: 4/5Ambience: 3/5Service: 3/5Value for money: 4/5Overall rating: 3.5/5
