Nathmulls Tea Bar is on the lower slope of the Darjeeling Mall. The tea bar serves you with pastries and snacks as well, but the shop is famous for its classic Darjeeling Tea. You can buy some for yourself, or just enjoy the sip of Darjeeling Tea in their Lounge with a classic Himalayan hills view.==========================:: PRO ::1. Their tea is the freshest, especially the first flush ones.2. The pastries tasted quite good.3. Mesmerizing views from their lounge.4. The ambiance is eye-soothing==========================:: CON ::1. They sell memorabilia which is costly in my view.==========================About the ambiance,The interior is wooden with many artifacts all over the wall. They sell showpieces and memorabilia for sale to remember your Darjeeling Trip. They have a pastries counter beside it where you can have some delicious cakes from their bakery. On walking a foot or two, you can see their tea counter where you buy tea leaves for purchase of all kinds – First Flush, Second Flush, Black and many more. If you want to enjoy the tea there, you can have it by the window side, facing the Himalayan hills in the Lounge.About the food, The Darjeeling Tea we had was great. Probably, the best I ever had. They serve with cubes of marshmello, but we prefer to have it raw to taste the fresh flavor. We also ordered a Red Velvet Cake which was a bit more good than average.Must-Try: First Flush Darjeeling Tea
If you’re fond of teas then this is definitely a must visit. The cafe overlooks the mountains and has a great view (when it’s not foggy). Although we didn’t try any of the pastries, we tried four different types of teas. All of them are very good. They have various options in white, green and black teas from different estates. They also have a couple of floral teas. The staff are friendly and are happy to recommend teas as per your preference as the menu maybe a bit intimidating for those who aren’t very familiar with tea. You can also take home some teas as they have a very wide collection available.
Nathmulls Sunset Lounge tea bar is a must visit for all tea lovers and nature enthusiastic. It is just in Mall in one of the alleys. But dont judge by the exterior look. Its just wonderful and you can spend a evening tea with mountain view.A hidden gem in Darjeeling and a must visit for all.
Nice tea shop overlooking the mountains. Our server suggested us a nice green tea and a mint tea. Unfortunately no cakes were eggless. But the teas were quite nice.
A great place to try out different types of Darjeeling tea and buy a few packets for people back at home. There are various types of tea available here across various price ranges. Don’t miss trying out the white tea while you are here. You will hardly find it elsewhere
The café or rather tea bar is excellent. You will have some pastries also to go with the food. The man running the café is very knowledgeable about tea being a member of the Nathmull family (The Whistling Kettle at Golpark, Kolkata is run by his sister). The staff is very genial. The ambience is great. So is the variety of tea available. You can buy packets of tea for your loved ones from here. The place has a view of the valley and Kanchenjungha also. Hence the name, ‘sunset lounge’. You can have a warm cup of tea with your loved one and fall in love with Darjeeling again. I must say, this place is better than Golden Tips. The USP is, as I mentioned before, the view. If the sky is clear, you’ll get a view of sunset which you’ll never ever forget in your whole life. And if Kanchenjungha is visible, that would be the cherry on top.
Place is small but has a classy interiors. If you are a tea lover, you must visit this place. They have exotic varieties of tea and it is served in vintage cutlery. One can have fresh pastries and bakery items along with the tea. Though we found tea is bit overhyped and expensive. Tea did not make complete justice to the amount we paid. Overall it was a fairly fine experience, can be taken once.
