Visited this place on Asthami Night, and this place was pretty crowded though we were immediately seated. The ambience was nice.Ordered Tandoori Chicken, Mutton RoganJosh and Naan. We had to order whole plate of tandoori because they were not serving anything in half, maybe because of Puja.Coming to the food -● Tandoor Chicken- Four succulent pieces of chicken directly served from the tandoor , sprinkled chaat masala over it tasted heavenly. The mint chutney along with it accompanied too well. (5/5)● Mutton Roganjosh – The mutton was so soft, and the medium spicy gravy accompanied so well with the naan. (4.5/5)●Plain Naan- Naan was also good,and the size was bigger than other places. (4/5)We were served complimentary onion salad.The staff was very good, though the place is on the expensive side yet the quality and the quantity they serve it is worth it. Went there for office party. It’s situated a few blocks away from the BIPL building. None of their preparations deserves any special mention as they were pretty average and nothing worth remembering. The whole meal costs us Rs 599+ tax for each person. Place is huge but still have a crampy feel to it as tables are set pretty close to each other. Service was good.
1} Ambience – Very nice and well decorated and a section have a DJ system for private bookings and parties. Cool and cosy place to be with friends and family.2} Food – Both Chinese and Indian food is available. The taste is good and the quantity is sufficient for 2. However what stands out is the Cocktail and the Mocktail, one should try their drinks if you visit Red Express.3} Service – Excellant service, very polite and homely. Very attentive.4} value for money – 600 for 2 at lunch, will be very filling.5} How to reach/Accessibility – Very very convenient to reach as its in the heart of the IT Hub in Kolkata which is Salt lake sector 5. Any bus that comes to SDF, you need to get down at SDF and then its a 5 feet walk.
