This place is unique, never in Kolkata did I find radha ballavi being served in banna leaf, nor would you find a place that serves daal and asks ₹2 per piece of aloo dum.You come in have a seat and they start serving you. Didn’t see this happening with kachodi. Also tried varieties of sweets like khirkadom, chamcham, kachha gola and others, all fress too sweet and juicy, just how a typical Bengali sweet is. Also tried veg chop which was perfect just how you can imagine a Bengali special chop to be.A place that goes unnoticed by regulars, it really doesn’t look like an eating houss from outside, but serves quality stuff at moderate prices. Did I mention its pure veg. Come in for a traditional experience.
Recently I had luchi and cholar dal. The quality of luchi was good however the cholar dal was slightly above average. They could definitely improve a lot. From the price point its slightly on higher side as there are shops who provide much better quality food at very competitive prices. The sitting arrangement is very congested. I suppose over the years the name that they have made for themselves is not holding up to their reputation. But again there are people who would keep visiting this place because of the reputation. The only positive point is that they would always serve you hot puris. Apart from that there is nothing else
