Parking was not great. The lobby was not as spacious as some other equivalent places. Overall look and feel of the place was luxurious. Got to see a marriage ceremony take place inside. At the lobby, we had a cappuccino and a chicken tikka puff, both of which were not served hot. The chicken tikka puff was cold, with almost no taste. What can I say about cappuccino, it was just like what cafes serve, only expensive. We had reservation at Oceanic for 5:15 pm. When we went there, they told us that they open at 7:00 pm, and again at 7 pm they said that buffet will start at 7:30 pm. I requested them to start at 7:00, to which they couldn’t say yes. I understand that it is the restaurant policy to start buffet at their time, but they should have co-ordination with apps that they receive their bookings from. We had to wait for over 2 hours at the lobby. That disrupted our entire plan for the night. To be honest, there are other food chains in the city providing a much wider variety and much better quality of food at lower than half the price than Oceanic. I mean, Oceanic charges 1700 per head whereas there are places charging 500-800 per head for a much muucchh better experience. The food at Oceanic also was not as luxurious as we had expected. Biriyani was delicious. Grilled fish and grilled chicken in the starters were good as well.Fish lasagna smelled pungently fishy, chicken lollipop had too much sauce, fish chop was not tasty, grilled chicken pizza only tasted like a bread topped with pizza sauce, tiny shrimps were served on a plate with a loads of salt and no presentation whatsoever (extremely disappointing compared to what others provide), there was only one dish of mutton which was mutton biriyani and 2-3 chicken gravy dishes (there could’ve been one chicken and one mutton gravy dish and/or more instead), the tandoori mugh butter masala was too sour, chciken stir fry had no flavor, the sauce accompanying honey sesame noodles was utterly bad. It was an utter disappointment. In brief, no food other than biriyani in the main course suited neither mine nor my partner’s taste.Yes the dessert selection was good. I had a slice of the mango cake, but with the first impression that the place had left on us, even the dessert tasted too simple.Staff were so juvenile and seemed like interns. They took video of us eating, though I didn’t enjoy the food much.
One of the worst buffet I have had. It’s quite strange that Peerlessinn serves this kind of buffet. The main course was horrible. Ordered only one masala kulcha but unfortunately I haven’t been served. The only plus point is the dessert section.Overall experience is absolutely bad.
It’s a mixed experience at Oceanic. We booked our tables for lunch buffet. Though the staffs are quite cordial and polite and they make us feel at ease and comfortable but we are quite confused with the menu on serve. The salads are quite innovatively served in shot glasses for each portions. The starters are specially all Indian kabebs. And the surprise element they server sandwich and pizza slice too in starters. In the main course, there is generally Bangla cuisine but again a surprise element where the gravy and the main ingredients are served separately, also each portion served in small bowls kept at counter. The whole buffet looked like having food at office canteen. Taste and spreads are very average, no wow factor. Desert section is also decent but nothing special. With the price bracket they are serving, it’s not worth spending and not expected from a good hospitality sector. They should urgent consider a revamp in menu.
Located at Esplanade, this place has a beautiful decor. The seating arrangements are cozy as well..But what disappointed me was the service which was quite slow. Also the food quality was not upto mark. We tried the Awadhi lunch. Each and every dish was average. Chicken Tandoori kababs and Galauti kababs are only recommended. Other food items and the service was very much disappointing..Not a good experience. Not recommended at all.
