    Looking for some orthodox cuisine which will take you back in time?Then Bongnese Salt Lake have introduced some of the old forgotten Bengali Dishes curated by their chef which will amaze you with every bite.Some of my personal pick from the diverse menu are as follows (as per order)-✓Puratoni Chingri Cutlet✓Kobirajer Kobiraji✓Koi Macher Meghna Jamuna✓Goalondo Ghat er Murgi✓Patrik Saheb er Mangsher JholApart from the mentioned dishes there are Boyal Macher Jhati, Sohagi Sidur, Luchir Payesh etc.All the dishes have a history on it’s own, and anyone will be amazed to hear the story it carries. It is prepared with very popular Bengali Bhekti and it’s then stir-fried.• Puratoni Chingri Cutlet- It’s a Very Old Bengali Cuisine, popularly known as Chingri macher Cutlet. It’s believed to be originated from Portuguese Cuisine.MAIN COURSE NON-VEG• Patrick Saheber Mangsher Jhol- It’s also known as Dakatia Mangsho. It was originated during Colonial India.• Goalondo Ghat er Murgi-It’s a very SIMPLE chicken curry, made with some famous spices of Bangladesh cooks. It’s Famous for Simplicity.• Boyal Mach er Jhati- It’s a Dish where another famous Bengali fish (Boyal) is used, and it symbolizes Behula and Laxinder’s Marriage as per Padmapuran.• Koi Machh er Meghna Jamuna- It’s a Very Innovative Dish, where two famous (koi) fish are served on the same plate but with a different preparation. • Suhagi Sindur- A very old and Authentic Bengali dish found during the time of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.DESSERT• Luchir Payesh- Payesh Being one of the oldest and most authentic Bengali cuisines. It’s a new creation, where keer is being used as luchi, with the topping of kaju and kismis. Along with it anjan dutta songs adds as a topping to setup your mood.We team PanchPhoron and Am2PmFood were invited to taste their newly launched menu which specifically focuses on old forgotten recipes of Bengal.Here is what we tasted:STARTERSKobrejer Kobiraji- A very well known bengali starters which is believed to be a distortion of the word Coverage. This dish is prepared with fresh Kolkata Bhetki sliced and stir fried.Puratoni Chingri Cutlet- A dish basically comes from Indo-Portuguese era which is popularly known as most loved dish of the famous Narayan Gangopadhyay’s fictional character Tenida. This Chingri Mach er cutlet is as yummy as it looks and must try for all.MAIN COURSEGoalondo Ghat er Murgi- A very famous Opar Bangla dish which was known as boatman special of Goalondo ghat.It is a simple chicken curry cooked with limited spices.Patrick Saheber Mangsher Jhol- A very famous colonial indian dish also known as Dakatia Mangsho. It is basically a bit spicy Mutton curry.Koi Machh er Meghna Jamuna- A very innovative dish which symbolises love as it is Debdas’s favourite dish cooked by Paro herself.Koi mach being one of the finest of fishes that Bengalis love is cooked in two different spices.Boyal Mach er Jhati- As per Padmapuran this was one of the symbolic dish of famous Behula and Laxindar’s marriage.Sohagi Sindur- This dish is one of the best is a forgotten authentic Bengali dish cooked during the time of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.Desert:Luchir Payesh- A very famous Bengali delicacy which is a perfect mix of khir er luchi and payesh along with kaju and kismis as topping.This dish is supposed to be of favourite dessert of Maharaja Krishna Chandra.(This dish is prepared only on request and is not included in the menu)With all these lip-smacking dishes Bongnese becomes a attraction to all bengali cuisine lovers as with tasty food they will also tell you the history of that particular dish that is available and also famous Mr. Anjan Dutta with his songs on their playlist adds as a cherry on the top.#Am2PmFood#PanchPhoron#ZomatoKolkata

    Visited this place for lunch on this Independence Day, located at Saltlake, very close to Central Park, and Karunamoyee Bis terminus. After a long time had the Bengali cuisine, very courteous staff, excellent ambience. We ordered :- 1. Bong Fish Roll2. Kolkata Mutton Biriyani3. Dhakai Morog Pulao4. Pulao Rajnandini 5. Kochi Pathar Kosha Mangsho6. Patrik Saheber Mangsher Jhol 7. Ice cream The quality and the quantity was excellent. It was a very good experience here. I may come back here again especially for Chinese..
