This is a Small outlet located at Theatre Road. I tasted their cream roll, pista barging and some sort of rasogolla (forgot the name). There were not much varieties.Sweets seemed decent though price appears to be on the higher side. They can add more varieties to attract more customer.
Chhappan Bhog has launched some special sweets for Holi. They incorporate the seasonal flavours of Alphanso Mango and use other natural colours and flavours to make their sweets enticing to the eye. The taste is sublime which speaks volumes about their use of the best quality ingredients including chena, natural flavours like the sweetest of Alphanso mango, rose petals, sweet pumpkin, saffron etc.
Chhapan Bhog – the name itself stands out for sweets. It is the their only shop in Kolkata. They are popular among festive sweets distribution. The options are limited at the store.Their Chenna Sweets are must try here.Among them I had – 1) Chenna Sandwich – Superb.Must Try2) Chenna Malai Roll – Pretty Good.3) Cheena Toast topped with Kumhra Petha – Innovative stuff and tasted fine4) Gur Sandesh – Avergae and Costly for the Quality5) Focaccia Sandwich – TastyPrices are reasonable for the quality and taste they provide. Someone who is sweet toothed should try at least once.
Order- Snacks( Kachori and cutlet)Cost- on the higher side.Taste- To be honest it was pretty ordinary. But I am not commenting on the sweet as I didn’t taste it.
As I am a fan of bengali confectionery, I found these non bengali sweets totally off the mark and made for impression rather than delection. There isn’t anything delectable about most of them. Taste wise it would not please the palate especially of the lover of bengali sweets. The place is highly expensive and not even value for money. It has the kind of sweets that you want to see and show people in order to drive home the point that you have lots of money but very poor taste.
