Not too far from my place, it used to be the main Ashok Laboratories but now its a restaurant and they are the proprietor, what a diversification! Now, the ambiance is so subtle and beautiful. Corn Chat: So this was the starter, sweet flavoured corn tossed with capsicum, tomatoes, onions and this was very very low spicy, rather sweet and tangy! I believe this was their special offering for bloggers only. Veg Polau: Again a customization, looked more like amalgamation of ghee-bhaat with kishmish and kaju (ghee-rice with raisins and cashew) and Basanti Polau. But anyway, I loved it. The quality of the rice was very good, really good sized grains, mixed with loads of raisins, beans, carrots and cashew-nuts, not to forget the nice aroma of ghee! Kosha Mangsho (Mutton): Okay now this was a perfect dish which went absolutely well with the Polau! Soft and tender mutton pieces, really well cooked had the right amount of spices, not that its too spicy and I’m sure even the non-spicy lovers will thoroughly relish it! This will cost you Rs.395 only, not bad! Zaffran Murgh: Very nicely smoked, barbequed or kababs I would say which had the right amount of flavours. The chicken pieces were chunky and soft, really nicely cooked! Prawn Cutlet: Two pieces of fab cutlets, will just make you salivate for more! This is highly recommended for everyone who visit this place. I was amazed to see, that the stuffing of the cutlet was so well made, not that it has a thick layer of unnecessary cornflour/besan (Gram flour) coating inside it. Your tongue will feel every small bits of prawn pieces inside it, the crispiness and the taste was just too good! Pocket pinch of Rs.260, definitely if you are fond of bengali dishes, go for it blindly! Fish Finger: The cutlets obviously soared the expectations high, but this was just satisfactory. Based on the price of Rs.220, the size could have been better, although again the stuffing was really good, right amount of Vetki fish and minimal coatings. This was not that much spicy, but the ingredients were on point and of course made crispy! Kheer Luchi: Oh what an ending to the meal I had! This was just superb dessert which they offered. Has a price tag of Rs.250, deep fried luchi dipped in sweet sugar caramel and well stuffed with kheer, is just perfect undoubtedly. If you are a sweet lover, you must try this one and won’t let you down! So love to try out Bengali cuisines? i surely do, so this outlet is no exception to try out amazing dishes, I’m looking forward to try out the ‘Daab-Chingri’ and ‘Basanti Polau.’ Very courteous staff, the service is very commendable and I’m sure everyone will love the place!
