The first exclusive Creperie in Kolkata had me interested from the get go. I love Crepes, however am mostly served thick, groggy versions of it. But I took my chance and ended up here on a breezy spring evening to meet someone. Our Order was : CLASSIC HAM & CHEESE CREPE , PORKY DELIGHT , HOT CHOCOLATES – HAZELNUT and FRENCH STYLE. The FRENCH STYLE HOT CHOCOLATE was my favourite bit.. It was a thick chocolate concoction served with a touch of whipped cream and a hint on cinnamon. It is absolutely the best part of the menu and a relief from the Milo we get served in name of hot chocolate. The hazlenut one had a nutty flavour attributed to the Nutella I believe. Then came our crepes, mine was CLASSIC HAM & CHEESE ,light and petite, served with a sunny side up egg on top, coupled with sides of wedges and a very intricate checkered board of cheese and ham. The sight gave away the dish, simple delectable classic. I honestly have nothing to complain about, the crepe was light and the ham was beautiful, there was no outburst of cheese, the perfect amount. They didn’t hold back with any of the items on plate, and made a perfect plate. The PORKY DELIGHT was done in a completely different manner . It was chunks of pork and veggies in a tangy sweet sauce folded in a crepe and topped with cheese, served with wedges and mayo. The server was extremely sweet with a big bright grin lighting up the place. We had a chance of interacting with owner, who is a charming young lady. I wish them nothing but success and love. The place was done up very cutely with mild lighting and a welcoming fence on the outside. The washroom was neat and properly lit. Always a plus. I have never rated a place 5 star, but I couldn’t really fault this one, it will get a 4.8 from me. However, new places could always use some support, so full marks from me here today. #ANNreviews #ThumbsUp # MustVisit #WillVisitAgain #HighlyRecommended
I visited this cafe a couple of days back and found it to be amazing. They have really delicious crepes and it surely lives up to its hype. Do visit this place for a nice quite time.
This little cafe is more than just pretty. The friendly service, board games and the cute decor are just the addons to some of the delicious dishes they serve. We loved the hot chocolate that literally stood out. The chunky chicken strips, lasagna, oreo shake and baked cheesy chicken crepes were some of their best dishes. Overall a place we’ll love to visit again.
Beautiful ambience. Food presentation is also very food. Do visit.
@Crepestan : Came across this place at Jodhpur Park,Kolkata while ordering through ZOMATO and, boy! What a discovery it was!!!!!!! I am sure that the imminent crepe wave is going to take an already waffle-struck Kolkata by storm. This place is doing proper justice to the classic French staple and couldn’t fault it by any means. In frame: Choco Peanut Butter Crepe, Rs.159/-Deliciously loaded with peanut butter and chocolate sauce. The plethora of nuts added the much needed crunch to the otherwise soft texture of the crepe, but the edges of the crepe were beautifully crisped up.The most attractive part was the handwritten note pinned to the delivery box: a really sweet and cute gesture in the modern era of mechanization.Really looking forward to having more from here. thenoshtales.com
This joint gave me a good vibe, really good vibe after their food. In frame:1. French style hot chocolate : To my most favourite one.2. Lemon mint mojito : To my boyfriend’s favourite.3. Chicken lollipops : It was in a homemade spicy sauce.. I wasn’t spicy at all and could have been a bit more spicy.4. Crepestan special : I really liked the combo of kiwi and chicken, really liked the salsa/ sauce served with it.5. Crepe lasagna : didn’t expect it to be soo good..But the main problem was poor quality service. It could have been better.
Expectations were really high after reading so many positive reviews on Zomato. Considering that, I’d say it was a bit of a letdown, or maybe it wasn’t their best day today. It’s a small place (the ground floor of a house converted into a make-shift cafe), but the ambience is warm, cosy and comfortable. They have around 4-5 tables. We went in the afternoon at around 5 pm, when the café was relatively empty (only one other party except us). But the first thing that struck us was that this place is understaffed – we asked the waitress to give us 5 minutes to decide what we wanted, but then we had to wait for nearly 15 minutes before she could finally take our order. However we didn’t mind that since we weren’t particularly in a hurry, and there are several board games to keep yourself entertained while you wait.Coming to the food, the hot chocolate deserves special mention. It’s made in the French style, and I’d rate it among the better hot chocolates available in the city. It’s thick and dense, and you could almost eat it with a spoon. The jacket potatoes were also decent. The crepes (with which my expectations were the highest) however were a bit of a let down. The Ham and cheese crepe was dry on the inside, and I felt it needed a bit of creamy cheese to keep it moist. The other crepe (Crepestan special) was a disaster, at least to my tastebuds. What seemed like an intriguing combination (chicken with kiwis) actually turned out to be almost inedible. Didn’t like the flavour at all, neither of the chicken nor of the salsa that was served along with it.Overall, it was an average experience. The staff behaviour is really polite, and the owner also came out to greet us. I do not want to be overly critical, but I do hope that they take the suggestions regarding service speed and flavour profile into account and wish them best of luck for the future! 🙂
