We tried 1) butter chilli and pepper fish 2) sea food fried rice 3) Hongkong squid The fish was tender and juicy. The fried rice was good but we ordered one plate of sea food rice and they already served it in two plates which was a little weird. Now coming to the Hongkong squid, I personally felt it was a little bland. It was full of star anise so much that no other flavour was coming from it. Also we wanted to order lamb/prawn which was not available so that was disappointing. Overall it was an okay okay experience. There are better sea food restaurants in the city. Prices were inclusive of gst.
As far as restaurants go, this one is a keeper. Hidden just under the shade of some of the bigger and more suitably placed restaurants in this region they offer a hospitable and cozy environment that adds to the experience. We had the smoky wok tossed fried rice accompanied with chilli pork. I kid you not when i say the meat was tender and succulent. It literally detached itself with slightest of pressure. And the restaurant went strength from strength when serving the butter garlic squid that packed an umami blast in every bite i took of its crunchy exterior and contrasting interior.
