This place is located on the second floor of Rajkutir Hotel, Swabhumi. The cafe has a simple yet elegant decor. The ambience is amazing. However, the service is even below average which is unexpected considering the place. There was only one attendant who took even more than 10 minutes to serve two slices of cake. Most of the items weren’t available. Coming to the food, we had one walnut and honey tea cake. We ordered the large one, but were given the smaller one. When we enquired about it, the waiter simply said he gave it to us as the larger portions weren’t available, which he should’ve said while we placed the order. We also had two hazel truffle cakes. The quality of the cakes were top notch. The prices are moderate. But what they really need to improve is the service. The same waiter also took almost 10-12 minutes to give us the bill. This was unexpected and inconvenient at the same time.
The ambiance is what I love this place most of, have tried coffee here which was finely brewed. Tried a red valevt cheesecake and mango litchi avelna. The red velvet is like a crowd favourite, sweet to the core. I though liked the mango litchi one, though it’s an option that would be liked by some specific people only. Will come to this place again just for the sake of the place, so quiet so royal and so out of the city feels.
We had grand truffle and red velvet pastries along with chocolate cookie. The food was very good considering the price and the ambience was lovely. The grand truffle I felt would have better without the cocoa powder dusting which kind of destroyed the magic of the flavour leaving only bitter taste
Located in one of the finest properties in Kolkata, this small Cafe is perfect for a date. It has both indoor and outdoor seating arrangement. The Ambience is awesome, Food is average, Service is quick and the Staff behaves professionally. Pocket Pinch is extremely reasonable. You can use your Zomato Gold seamlessly! Red Velvet Cake is something not to be missed. Recommended. 🙂
Located in one of the prettiest property of Kolkata, Loafers cafe is a quaint, small cafe with a perfect setting for a date . The place gives you old time feels with the chessboard flooring and white chairs and tables. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available.I tried 3 pastries and have 3 different views :Hazelnut truffle cake – This one tasted like hazelnut panna cotta wrapped in crunchy hazelnut coating. It’s not a very sweet pastry and will be a favourite of you are fond of Panna cotta.Wilton way Red velvet cheese- Loved this one the most. Soft spongy cake wrapped is cream cheese and glazed from the top. It is amazing! The sweetness is well balanced and a must try here.Loafer’s grand truffle – Didn’t like this at all. The chocolate seemed weird and the after taste was pathetic. The place can improve a lot in terms of food. The ambience is very good and a picturesque place. For more information follow me on my blog theetenrovers.com.
