Today I had guests coming over so i opted for a takeaway with assorted snacks. I took paneer chop , vegetable cutlet, laddu , sandesh , amriti and goja. The paneer chop was tasty but had only one paneer inside it. The vegetable chop has bit size veggies inside it ,the coating was crispy. The desserts were equally delicious . The whole packet was sumptuous and stomach filling. The prices are reasonable if you are broke but craving some snacks.
It’s the quintessential ‘Parar mishtir dokan’ for me. I’ve been gorging on sweets and savouries from this place for the last 12 years and it hasn’t failed me or the house guests much. The shop is now divided into two sections, one sells typical bengali sweets and savouries; while the other section has ice-creams, varieties of chips, wafers and snacks.● Bengali sweets: Not a fan of bengali sweets even being a bong, (shame on me, i know!) but they do make some decent ones. Mishti doi, Khir kadam, jol bhora, laddu, darbesh, pantua, kalakand, bondey, gujiya, malai chomchom (in a plastic cup), kalo jaam are the ones that comes regularly to my place. Don’t like the Jilipi/Jalebi and Rosogolla here. Once or twice we got stale sweets in the morning and the shopkeeper was honest enough to exchange them for fresh ones.● Bengali savouries: Love their humble shingara/samosa, specially the Fulkopir shingara now as the winter is here! The kochuri – alur torkari is fine too. Don’t like the khasta kochuri and nimki though.● Snacks and Savouries: This is the other section that sells snacks like veg & chicken patties, hot dogs, cream rolls, pastries, muffins made by the ‘Modern Confectioners’. Honestly, i don’t like these at all cause’ they fail the test taste and the quality parameters too. Instead, i like to indulge in the various icecreams that are available there. They keep a decent stock, must admit. It’s my ‘Parar mishtir dokan’. So no matter i like it or not, i just can’t avoid it and have to live with it in harmony. Peace out, fellas! ✌
This is a renowned sweet shop in our area.. They make different kinds of sweets.. I have tried their different types of sweets. Taste is really very good and fresh.. Try their misti doi once. U will fall in love trust me.
A fine sweet shop that sells all your favourite sweets.Ocasionally you may stumble upon something new also. Just make sure to taste them.It has a wide variety range and the shop is well maintained .Available almost everyday throughout the year.
Tried their Chocolate sandesh as bought in by a relative. It was really good in taste and would look forward to try some more of their servings.
A good shop for sweet and all desert type item. Basically I go to this store frequently. Very well behaved person. Everything is good but they should sell more items.
The sweets and food here is really good, available all the time. This is the best sweet shop near my house.#sweets #kolkatasweets #foodie #kolkata
