This resturant is located just beside 6 Ballygunge place. Nice ambience but it was all empty. I went to this resturant on 1st january. The food were good. We have ordered coconut fish for starter(forgot the name) noodles and one chicken item. The starter was good but the smell of coconut was to high which was making the food taste bad. The quantity was good. The price is bit high comparing the taste of the food.

Mamasan is a Chinese restaurant which serves some authentic and unique Chinese dishes alongwith the regular ones.Mamasan is located near South Point School, more specifically near 6,Ballygunge Place(Ballygunge Outlet). When I entered the place, their interior decorated with Chinese and other Asian fans, paintings gave me the proper feelings of being in a Chinese place. They can accommodate aroun 40-44 people at a time, sitting includes sofas and chairs. The place is quite spacious.Service was quick and staff were polite.I had tried-Chicken Suimai,Veg thupka,Thai Lemongrass Roll(Chicken),Korean Chilli Chicken,Egg Burnt Garlic Rice,Cambodian Chilli Fish,Veg Mee goreng,Mandarian Darshan. One plate of chicken shumai or sui mai had 6 pieces, they were well stuffed with chicken and veggies. They were very soft.Veg thupka here was with one veg dumping and flat noodles in it. It was a bit spicy, but yes seemed good in winter evening.Thai lemon grass roll was another chicken starter,it was soft inside and crunchy outside. Stuffing tasted not dull, rather it had a good taste. One serving of Thai Lemon Grass Roll had eight pieces.Mee goreng is noodles in Asian Cuisine, here this noodle was tasty, not too thick. Since mee goreng was on spicy range, light tasted Cambodian Chilli Fish was perfect with it. Fish was soft, and luckily there was no smell of raw fish in it.Egg burnt garlic rice is one of my most liked dish here, since rice was well flavoured, there was plenty of egg and veggies in it.Korean chilli chicken was like normal chilli chicken but yes with some twists, they sprinkled sesame seeds on it.Lastly mandarian darshan with ice cream, darshan was freshly made so they were soft and crunchy at the same time. Sweet in it was not too much, that’s why I liked it more.So if you are finding a Chinese place with some Asian twists in their food, then it’s a must try place at Pocket friendly budget.

If you love asian delicacies then you must go to Mamasan.Mamasan serves lipsmacking Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian dishes. This place is located near Balligaunge Phari. Very close to 6,Balligaunge place and opposite to the Cocoa Bakery.Ambience is very nice and calm. Beautifully decorated with large, colourful chinese wall fans. They have seating arrangement of more or less 45-50 people at once.Service is prompt and staffs are courteous. They offers a huge varieties of delicious items among with i had tried some.I tried-Chicken siu mai. It is basically a traditional chinese dumpling. Handmade thin sheet of dough filled with minced chicken and some chopped veggies and served with garlic and scallion oil. Taste was upto the mark.Pattaya night market’s dumpling soup. This was very flavourful and perfect for winter. This soup is bit spicy with the dominant flavour of kaffir lime and lemongrass. It contain soft juicy dumpling, flat noodles, mushrooms and pok choi within it.Mie goreng- it is spicy fried noodles tossed with bean sprouts, some greens and peanuts. It is flavoured with malaysian sambhal for which it is spicy as malaysian sambhal is basically a chilly paste or sauce made from different varieties of chillies and mixed with other ingredients like garlic, ginger, tamarind etc. Taste was amazing.Korean chilli chicken- It is bit different from regular chilli chicken as it is prepared with korean gochujang paste. Gochujang is a popular Korean sauce which is made from mainly chilli powder, glutanous rice and fermented soybean powder. This item was so flavourful and chicken was soft and infused with flavours. A must try from this place.Mandarin darsaan with vanilla ice cream- perfect dessert to end your meal on a sweet note. Hot, crispy darsaan topped with vanilla ice cream. It is prepared with traditional darsaan coated with sweet mandarin sauce and tossed with fresh thai basil which gives it a freshness and different flavour.Overall i had a great experience here.Prices are reasonable according to the quality and quantity of each item.

At a zone with 6 Ballygunge Place right by it’s side and Chowman just a few buildings away, this place is definitely a gem. Well having my birthday last night, I had to think a lot about where to dine for Chinese with my family and having heard of this place, thought of giving it a try keeping aside the leading ones. And I must say, my birthday dinner went amazing, thanks to them. Each platter ordered had been commendable. Takrai with its amazing essence of gondhoraj lime, hot basil with its own spicy yet authentic fried rice flavour and the side dishes. And also the highly courteous staff and an amazing soothing ambience with perfect Hollywood tracks playing. Overall loved it. Good Luck ahead.
