Two days ago I went this place. It is located at Bondel Road in Ballygaunge Phari. The Ambience is cozy. They have limited seating arrangements. There staff behavior was courteous and very much polite. We have ordered – ✔ SNACKS – â• PIZZA CHIZZA ROLL â• CHICKEN MURTABAK ✔ TANDOOR – â• BHARWAN TANGDI â• MURGH MALAI TIKKA ✔ MAIN COURSE – â• DAL MAKHANI â• BUTTER CHICKEN â• CHICKEN BIRIYANI â• LACCHA PARATHA ✔ DESSERT – â• BADALJAAM Must Recommendation – Chicken Murtabak – It was good, and there stuffing of inside the Murtabak was Ultimate. Bharwan Tangdi – The Tangdi was spicy from outside and tasty. Chicken Biriyani – It was delicious. And specially with butter chicken was good combo. Badaljaam – Last but not the least this one was yummy and perfect dessert for lunch. Overall it was a great experience from here.
Try out some authentic ,unheard mughlai dishes along with regular quick bites only at Mashawa .The term Mashawa literally is the name of a famous Afghani soup and hence the name of this restaurant actually indicates the type of cuisine they serve .Located in the lanes of Ballygunge phari , on Bondel road, close to patha bhaban school ,lies this hidden gem which can accomodate 13-15 people at a time but won’t fail to impress anyone . Be it Ambience , food , hospitality everything is on the right gear. Although the place is small , yet it is beautifully decorated and also a perfect place for a peaceful date with your loved ones .Let’s get to the food they served . For the starters we focused onPizza Chizza Roll : An interesting take on rolls , paranthe stuffed with oregano , cheese , onions . Not the heaviest of the rolls but certainly this has the exact flavours of a pizza .Chicken Murtabak: The word mutabbaq means folded in Arabic . So Murtabak is a deep fried pancake filled with minced meat and some other veggies . It looks like some huge spring rolls and is too delicious . A very heavy dish hence should be shared by two. Originating from Indian subcontinent this dish now serves as a popular street food at Malaysia Indonesia and Singapore . So this isn’t yet popular at Kolkata hence Mashawa deserves some credit .Bharwan Tengdi : Another intresting take on the classic tengdi kebabs . Big pieces of chicken legs stuffed with minced meat and secret spices and grilled over tandoor , served with green chutney . Such a wonderful preparation that will leave you crave for more.Murgh Malai Tikka : A traditional chicken reshmi kebab or malai kebab which is often ordered in mughlai restaurants and is loved by most people. It should be consumed hot or else it will lose its texture and the chicken will become stiffAfter the starters , it was time for the popular tandoori chai . They also have an option of tandoori coffee for coffee lovers. The tandoori chai was very weel prepared , sweeter than usual but it tasted great.Moving to the mains we hadButter Chicken with lachcha paranthe : boneless diced chicken pieces emerged in rich yellowish creamy butter chicken gravy .Tomato being the dominant flavour the gravy was majorly on the sweeter side. And not to be ignored was the crispiness of the paranthe.Chicken Biryani : Consisting of a potato and one good sized chicken piece , this biryani lacks the egg but yet delivers the flavours and when paired by the sweet gravy of butter chicken , it tasted even better .For the dessert we tried Badaljaam , usually it’s a dish made of fried brinjal and is a popular awadhi cuisine , here they have given it a sweet take , replacing brinjals with gulab jamuns topped it with lots of malai that elevated the simple gulab jamuns to a great extent .My picks will include the tandoori cha /coffee , chicken Murtabak , bharwan tengdi .
