This is one of the best places to have south Indian cuisine in Kolkata. Located in lake market, this place serves authentic dosas, idli, filtered coffee, with a taste of their own, and I absolutely love it. Although this is a pure veg restaurant, the food is great, and the variations really make you want more and more. South Indians who reside in Calcutta ot people who love south Indian cuisine must give this place a try. It’s absolutely worth it.
This place offers quite a variety of South Indian dishes. They have good quality food to offer. You will get a lot of varieties. Pricing is budget friendly than most other South Indian restaurants. I will recommend to try at least once. It’s located just opposite to lake mall. Behavior of the staff is also appreciable.
Wanted a proper South Indian meal during the pujas hence we dropped in here during Navami and wasn’t disappointed. Located opposite Lake Mall, this place is easy to locate.We ordered Onion Butter Masala Dosa, Onion Uttapam, South Indian Meal and Uttapam Platter. The dosa was dripping with butter and filled to the brim with onions which is good. It was soft and crunchy, just the way we liked. The Uttapam and the platter was pretty good. Though not only the Uttapams in the platter was good, especially the badam Uttapam was a bit downer. The sambar and chutney was good, but they could have been better. Now coming to the platter, as expected not all the accompaniments were superb in taste. Plenty of them were average, though it does have unlimited servings. The halwa was amazing though. Overall, this place does serves good South Indian food but there’s room for improvement here.
It’s a classic. The dosa and onion uthappams are my personal favourites. They’re fried crisp and the sambhar is warm enough to sate yourself. Wash it down with delicious filter coffee.
