Visited today again after a long time..Due to the weather it was difficult reaching here..What do I say about this place..Has been there since ages..Synonymous with Bengali Styled Rabri and also Sandesh.A must visit for sweet treats.
A small outlet besides citi style on rashbehari avenue.Ambience: Just a small shop with no doors or theme. Only an L shaped glass showcase.Staff: polite and friendly. Should wear gloves to handle the sweets as he uses the same hand to handle cash.Food(sweets): This is where the place excels. Quality sweets at affordable prices. I had their mango sandesh and it was pleasing enough for 15 rupees. Their jolbhora talsash sandesh is a must try as well as the rose sandesh.Note: They do not offer any snacks like samosa like most sweet shops.Overall: I give it a thumbs up and a must try at least once.
An 189 year old brand based in College Street run by sixth generation owners (Ajoy Chandra Dass) selling one of the best #MishtiDoi & #Rabri in town through it’s 70 year old branch outlet at #TriangularPark..Also loved our quintessential #Rossogolla & #BasantaBahar sandesh – extremely yummy..What are your memories with this shop??Journey of an Epicurean Cine Trotter continues..My journey can also be tracked via http://www.instagram.com/epicureancinetrotterBy the way, have you joined Kolkata Food Trotters on FACEBOOK yet??
A very old shop still maintaining the tradition. had got sweets home delivered.the taste was just perfect with the perfect blend of the ingredients.have heard of this place for a long and finally it totally meet my expectation.
This is an old sweet shop located near Triangular Park. It’s a no-frills sweet shop shop serving mostly sandesh. They sell different variety of sandesh of very good quality. I have personally had their Khirer Peda and Chanar Murki. The Peda is a little big in size and tastes great. The Chanar Murki is good too,but it’s a little too sweet so it’s better savoured in small quantities. Pocket pinch is affordable.
Only selected items kept but quality is maintained. Try and avoid the small sugary cubes available. Tastes like putting sugar in the mouth. Go for the nut filled sandesh.
Jadab Chandra Das is a small outlet, much old, located bear Triangular Park on the opposite footpath. They mostly make sandesh. I tried a few here and they were amazing. All the Sandesh I tried out was excellent. Few of them has different flavors stuffed inside which give a surprise taste.Another thing to mention is their Kheerer Peda and Channar MurkiVery Good is all I can sum up. Trying anything won’t be mistake.Come and try few here. You will be delighted to try their creations. photographerslunchbox.wordpress.com
