The location is a bit of disappointment. But the menu for Bengali food is good. Their better outlet is at Dalhousie near Writer’s building. Prices are pretty reasonable. The decor inside could have been better. Service can improve.
Don’t let the stark interior fool you: Bhoj serves up some delicious food. Try the moch moche murgi (fried chicken patties with a mustard sauce), the similarly mustard-flavored jhinga aloo posto and loitta bharta — a mashed fish curry.
One of the main attraction for me in Kolkata. It feels weird that being a Bengladeshi, I dont have access to these food at home and in any local places in Dhaka. Below is a list you must try there;
We had to sit with some strangers and it was great! They explained us what was the food. And we ate a good fish. With our hands, of course!
Food was good. Specially fish items. There was crowd in season so you have to wait for your food. Environment is cozy. Service may better.
This is by far the best place for a classical Bengali selection. Nothing fancy. Nothing elaborate. Nothing pricey. Just simple, very good quality dishes with excellent service. Down to earth and in the heart of the city. This is definitely my favourite place. Bon appetit!!!
Friendly helpful service. Price reasonable and great food Bengali and Chinese. Very prompt delivery clean and well presented. Highly recommended.
