Nahoum and Sons , New Market . One of the oldest and legendary bakery shop in the whole city . Known for its customised cakes , pastry , puffs , brownie and marzipan. Prices are reasonable. Hygiene. Very good quality and authentic. Something very extraordinary. Must try the Black Forest , almond tarts , jam tarts , brownie, buns , Marzipan and elcairs . Overall it’s a great place. You’ll surely have a great experience. A must visit place. Thank you.

Stocks are refilled quickly when demand increases.4. The staff is friendly and cooperative.==============|| CON ||1. The queue is more-than-an-hour long in the Christmas season.2. Pastries are mostly average here.3. Locating the store in the Hogg market is itself a difficult task.==============About the Food,The fruit cake we had was fresh, tasty and fluffy. The taste of the cake was similar to fruit cakes made with fruits that were kept in wine for days. We also had few pastries, but honestly, the pastries were average.

My grandfather was a regular customer so my mom also grew up eating nahoum products and same goes for me. specially their butter biscuits, freshly baked breads and their lemon tarts. Just way too good. Whenever I visit New market its just impossible that I won’t visit Nahoum once. And I know even my future generation will get to taste their breads as well.
Nahoum’s doesn’t need an introduction, almost each and every people coming/living in kolkata is familiar with this bakery. We can’t even imagine Christmas without Nahoum’s cake..My favorite :Palm cakePrice: Rs- 280Taste: 5/5
Expect the place to be crowded, service to be not prompt, items to be unavailable because the place is mostly busy and fast selling. Didn’t like the lemon tarts though. Coconut dessert was good.
Nahoums has been a childhood favorite of mine and my 1st visit to this shop was with my mother. I was just a little kid then & I had their chocolate pastry & fell in love with it and ever since that day it has been my number one bakery. It has the old calcutta charm in their shop. They have those old-fashioned glass display and teekwook furniture. Now coming to the food items I have tried from here:BrowniesChocolate EclaresHeart CakesPastriesRum Cakes, Lemon cakesPlum cakes My personal favorite is the Rum cake, Brownie, Chocolate Pastry and the Chocolate Eclairs. You cannot go new market and not have a pastry or buy some fresh garlic bread from nahoum. 15years of me knowing and they still make the exactly tasting goodies ❤. My favorite is the black forest pastry and garlic bread.
