We had the following:Egg chicken kathi rolll which was super tasty. 4.5/5Chicken Champ:3.5/ 5Mutton Biryani: 3/5 the biryani had a a piece of potato and one piece of mutton but no egg. The fragrant notes of rose water were a little on the higher side. I personally prefer Arsalan Biryaniz
Recently I went to this place with my friends. We had Chicken Tikka Kebab, Chicken Kathi Kebab Roll, Mutton Kathi Kebab Roll and Firni. The Chicken Tikka Kebab was very delicious. Perfectly cooked and the amount of spice was sufficient. The Firni was also very good. The sweet was in right amount. The Chicken and Mutton Kathi Kebab Roll was also very tasty. But the paratha of the roll was a bit oily, otherwise it was great.
FOOD ORDERED – Chicken Biryani, Chicken Chap, Laccha Paratha, SaladFOOD REVIEW – Chicken biryani was pretty good for the price and when paired with Chicken Chap it felt heaven. Didn’t like the Laccha Paratha though because it was fried with dalda and felt very awful. Overall it was good. Staff behavior was pretty bad.
On new year we went there because most of the other restaurants were full and this was the only option we got and luckily we got seats on that day. Nizam is one of the oldest restaurant in kolkata and heard a lot about their Kathi roll but we couldn’t get to try because we were so hungry so we decided to have biriyani. We ordered two biriyani and mutton chap. Biriyani was tasty and mutton chap was awesome. Only one thing is a big let down is that ambience is a bit unhygienic. I hope they could improve their ambience .
Nizam’s is the very embodiment of nostalgia for me. Located at the heart of the city, New Market, this place is famous for the various types of kathi rolls that it offers. As per the most commonly accepted story, kathi rolls originated in Nizam’s when they started wrapping paranthas over their famous kababs, to make things less messy as well as to be eaten on the go.One speciality about their rolls is that they do not contain any sauces. Onions and capsicum marinated with vinegar and blackpepper is the only accompaniment. This place also serves amazing kababs and firni. If you are visiting Kolkata, and want to experience the taste of some authentic rolls, then this place is a must visit.
Nizam is situated in New market near Aminia. This place is famous for it’s kathi kebab roll , paraths etc. This is very nostalgic place – the seating arrangements , decor .They actually have very low maintainence . The service is prompt & staffs are quite decent. Now coming to the food. We ordered 2 laccha paratha & 1 plate chicken tangri kebab masala , 2 cold drinks. Food was good.1 paratha is enough for an individual , it’s very heavy. The taste of tangri kebab masala was good but it’s very spicy & oily. Our Total bill was around 500/-.Overall Rating:Taste : 3.5/5Service: 3/5Value for money: 4/5Ambience: 3/5
This was in my bucketlist for quite a long time but I was extremely disappointed when I visited here. The place is extremely unhygienic, you’ll see bees and mosquitos around your table and food. The table is not properly cleaned. Now coming to the foods, I ordered for a mutton biryani and a Chicken tikka butter masala. Honestly speaking, the local shops sell better biryani than this. I don’t know what rice they use for their biryani, but whatever it is, it’s basically a disaster. The gravy of tikka masala tasted pretty good but the chicken pieces were hard and chewy. The only good thing was the mutton pieces. After that, we ordered for a butter tandoori and that tasted the best among all of these. During payment, they made the nun complementary.
