The best kept secrets of #kolkata ..I have known the city for almost 12 years now and this city still surprises me and how..@saldanha_bakery is over 90 years old, houses in the family owned building and the treasures are kept as a secret!..One is not allowed to enter the bakery room and is asked to give order from the small office itself, they would let you know what all is available to order and the order is placed accordingly!..I heard a lot about their brownies and they were absolutely divine! Crumbly cookie texture wrapped a fudge core! ..I also picked up coconut macroons and their famous fruit cake!..The bakery is owned by a Goan family and I was happy to see mawa cake displayed! ..This is the season to visit these home grown heritage bakeries for custom made goodness…If you know of such places in kolkata, do comment and let me know!
