This place was earlier situated opp. Jamuna Cinemas. After almost a decade’s hiatus it has started operations in this small nook of South Calcutta. We were introduced to chimney soup through this joint as a kid. So this time it brought back all the memories with it’s unchanged and unique ingredients. Tried the chilli pork, pork momo, mixed noodles, mixed rice and chilli chicken. Needless to say all the taste were authentic, quantity and quality hearty but service a little slow. Will definitely go back for more.

Location : Lake Gardens beside Bandhan Bank. While their famous Chimney Soup might be the crowd puller. I found a few other items worth trying out. Roasted Pork in sweet chilly sauce was something I had tried out and liked. Strangely enough this was not the item I had initially thought of trying out. Since Roasted Chilly Pork wasn’t available we had to settle for this dish. Their boiled pork momos are something unique but at the same time true Momo patrons won’t like it. Apart from these, most of the other items on offer aren’t available at all times. Which is a big turn off and reason for low rating. From the noodles section, mixed/prawn gravy/hakka noodles was something I liked and wish to try out again. If you wish to try out pork items this place offers some A grade stuff.
How Hua, is a familiar and loved name among Kolkata gastrolgy nostalgics. This pretty old Chinese food joint was very famous once upon a time. Chimney soup was really its flagship dish. I and my friends used to visit regularly at this regularly. Twenty years back it was located off Park street. Time passed by but not they nor I. They have shifted to Lord’s Bakery more two years back after a brief hide out during 2014-15. We thought it like many other authentic small restaurants it also died. But proving us wrong, How Hua emerged out of ashes like Finix. At the new place they are able to regain most of the old customers and some fly by also visit. With home deliver services they are quiet stable now.The old authentic chinese flavour and taste is back with timeless freshness. At pretty middle class cozy set up I enjoyed chicken noodle soup today. Be there soon and enjoy tofu dishes and chimney soup before big restaurants kill it.
I dont know the location of this place because I ordered through swiggy. They served excellent Chicken gravy noodles at very low prices. Loved it so much. The accompanying Dragon chicken was also well prepared.
Food was very poor. waste of money. My first and last experience. I order pork noodles. I got mix of chicken and full of recycled oil. Zmato should stop doing business with How hua type of bad quality food servicing Restaurants. Bldy BC
My recent repast at How Hua proved upsettingly ordinary. Talumein Soup, as starter, was lifeless with a misplaced tang and wealth of noodles dipped in a viscous veg-stock. Plumped out with flavoured sawdust, Chicken Wantons fared as badly by appearing to appease those who rank heft above taste. Boon of the evening was a well-cooked Prawn Meifoon as flavorous noodles teeming with briskly prawns. But, Roast Chili Pork – made of stringy and stubborn shreds most indecorously carved off and served with minimal seasoning, cut me to the bone like none. Possibly my love for lean pork was mistaken as one for mean.
