Victoria Vada is one of those places that most people in Kolkata know about but its way more popular with tourists. I was surprised to have not been familiar with this place even though I am kolkata regular.Currently stationed outside Vardaan AC market, the stall used to be near Victoria Memorial and this the name. This place gained worldwide publicity when british prime minister David Cameroon stopped here for a bite during his India visit. You can find pictures of that visit proudly displayed at this small street shop. A proud moment indeed. And coming to the food, the stop was a much well deserved one. Chauhanji is the representative of the thought that if you focus on just one thing, no one can stop you from being the best. The piping hot vadas served with 2 kinds of chutney is almost the only thing one has on offer at this place and you wouldn’t feel disappointed. The vadas are golden brrown and crisp with the right amount of salt and spices. The chutneys mingle along as if they were always meant to be together.Chauhanji does have kanji vada also but after a platw of hot vadas you wouldn’t really go that way. At Rs.50 its expensive compared to most Kolkata street food but definitely worth it.#KolkataKiShaan #IndiTraveller

Yes, it’s true that Mr. David Cameron visited this place amd it’s also true that once this place served amazing vadas. However, today its just a hyped name, who is also milking only on the basis of the fame it has achieved. The pricing is too high compared to the quality of pieces served. Similar joints at reasonable price are available near emami mall also.

This place needs no introduction, everyone loving street food in Kolkata knows about this stall. Was shot to fame when it was visited by David Cameron, former Prime Minister of Britan on his visit to Kolkata.Serves amazing Victoria vada with two chutneys, and their orange chutney is what keeps me coming back to this place everytime. Crispy Hot, and no questions on the quality. A stall which should not be missed.P.S: This small looking stall even has his own fan page on Facebook, and even accepts order as a Zomato exclusive.
