I was looking for a Bengali restaurant in Ranikuthi area. I finally found one on this trip; Ranna Bati. I like this restaurant. It is very clean, nice atmosphere and good food. I have been there for lunch and dinner. I like the fact that I go there for afternoon tea and a snack, Mochar Chop. To top it all, I enjoy talking with Mrs. Anashua, the owner. She is very friendly and easy to converse with.I recommend this place.
Went there to celebrate my mom’s birthday and the food just ruined the night for us. We ordered•Chicken Cutlet- it contained 2 medium sized pieces. Chicken fillet was very thin and the dish lacked salt. (5/10)•Mutton Dak Bungalow- came with 3 pieces of chicken and one egg. Could’ve served better pieces of mutton and the pieces could’ve been softer. But what really put me off was the gravy. It was jam-packed with cinnamon and fried onions and was way too spicey. The whole taste was very off-putting. (3/10)•Mutton Curry- Came with 4 pieces of mutton. Again the pieces weren’t soft enough, should’ve been cooked for longer, should’ve served better pieces. The curry tested good though. (6/10)•Aloo Fulkopir torkari- It tasted really good. But the portion was way too less. Maybe only veg dishes taste good here. Who knows right! (7/10)•Katla Kalia- My dad had Rohu fish. I didn’t taste this one but both my mom and dad said that the fish wasn’t fresh and was very rubbery in texture. They didn’t like it at all. (1/10)We also ordered 3 portions of rice but honestly half way through our dinner we were so disheartened by the whole experience that we couldn’t even finish our meal. The prices are just like other Bengali restaurants out there. Our total bill was around 1350 Rs. The ambience is quite good. But I would never like to visit this place again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
