An extremely famous North Kolkata sweet shop located at Fariapukur, renowned primarily for its Misti Doi. Over the years it has lost its glory due to lack of polite service, declining quality of the sweets and taking customers for granted. Last time I tried their Misti Doi it was pretty average to taste. Many sweet shops within the vicinity can serve you a better tasting Misti Doi. Sen Mahasay is an obvious example.They do not even have the courtesy of providing a proper spoon with the dish. The one theyprovide now (at least the one they provided during my visit) is a tiny piece of platic shit that will even fail to cut through a slab of your beloved Doi. I wonder what business model the owner follows and how much are they gaining by replacing a wooden spoon with customer dissatisfaction.
This rating is solely due to their misti doi. It’s definitely one of the best in Kolkata. They sell the typical laal doi which is so creamy with a smooth texture and right amount of sweetness. They serve the doi in clay pots ‘vnar’ of 250 gm and 1 kg capacity. If you buy a pot, just scoop off the upper layer and have it and you won’t forger the taste. The other sweets i tried were standard. The shopkeepers are impolite though. But you can ignore them. Just go for their doi.

Amrit is one of the pre-eminent sweet shop located in Shyambazar opposite of Hatibagan Aminia.The misti doi here is pure bliss. Served in matir bhar the misti doi is undoubtedly one of the best in kolkata. Apart from misti doi you can also try their misti singara and talasash which are also definitely worth the money.Highly recommend. A must visit place for everyone.
Rating-3.5/5.Many foodies swear on the quality of Doi from this small shop. I found it decent enough, but I have had better ones. Or probably it’s my own choice in doi. The creamy layer on the top is always a favourite. May be I will try few more times before I can pass a judgement on them.The other sweets were ordinary.They serve fast.
লাঞ্চ টাইম এ বাড়ি থেকে দেওয়া চীজ স্যান্ডউইচ আর ডিমের স্যালাডে মন টা ঠিক পরিতৃপ্ত না হওয়ার দরুন এক বন্ধুকে জানতে চাই , বেলগাছিয়া-শ্যামবাজার এর চত্বরে ভালো ভালো কি খাবার দাবার পাওয়া যেতে পারে, ব্যাস!!প্রচুর প্রচুর সাজেশন!তবে #অমৃতর মিষ্টি দই ব্যাপার টা বেশ মন কাড়লো আর বলা মাত্রই কাজ.বিশ্বাস করুন সমগ্র পৃথিবী এক দিকে , আর কাঠের চামচে করে অমৃতর মিষ্টি দই মুখে পুরে এক স্বর্গীয় অনুভূতি লাভ করবার আনন্দ একদিকে..❤️❤️
