Made the mistake of visiting this place on a Saturday night. Jam packed to the core and heating turned on to the max. It was like a furnace inside. The music was good though.. A pity there wasn’t any space to dance!!
This well-known pub is a huge nightlife institution in Dublin, something well demonstrated by its endless number of floors.The ground floor showcases a typical pub environment, with some live music and a cozy mood. However, after 10:30 pm or something, the music stops and a saxophone starts blaring over some beats. That announces the morphing of the place into a night club. Talking becomes impossible and the place gets packed. This was on a Saturday.To me, it seems like the place tries to be a lot of things and that doesn’t really appeal to me. I prefer the pub vibe, but that’s just my taste, I guess.It’s a bit pricy, but it’s normal, since we’re in Temple Bar. The decor is cool and the place is worth a visit, but it’s not somewhere I will return to very often.
