If there was 6 I would give itThis is definitely top 10 meals of my life!The setting for this restaurant is fabulous, along the canal with swans and runners alike passing by the big open window. We were there at sunset on a beautiful spring evening which only added to the allure!The welcome is so friendly and warm, gone is the fussy elitism of it’s predecessor, it seems to me that when lockes dropped the e it gained a big warm fuzzy heart.We were given our menus and a few moments later, asked if we had any questions, no rush, just helpful.After we ordered we were brought lovely, crusty bread which was served with shrimp butter, delicious and so crisp it gave our jaws a workout.Honestly now, my starter was like the food of Gods, I had the whipped chicken livers, so smooth and so rich- and a very generous portion! Neil had the mackerel which he very much enjoyed (however, the chicken livers were definitely the stars of the show)For main I had John Dorey and Neil had pork belly, both were well seasoned and beautifully cooked. We ordered a portion of duck fat chips to share (don’t miss out on these)We shared a desert of brown sugar tart which came with coffee ice cream and whiskey caramel, so so yummy is the only way to describe it.I could not recommend this place enough!!!
