Delicious Irish food! Me and my friends decide to have dinner in The Old Mill before went to the pubs of the temple bar and we had a nice meal and really enjoy to be in this beautiful place. The service was good too!
Fully recommended. I don’t usually like to eat in restaurants located in touristic places because i feel like the location does not make a restaurant good, food makes it good(based on past experiences). BUT this is not that case. This restaurant has it all: location, cozy environment and great food. Same prices compared to all restaurants in the area.
Good hearty feed, right in the centre of temple bar. We were very jet lagged coming in and the staff were lovely enough to let us share a two course meal for only 18.95! The gravy on this banger and mash is absolutely to die for ! Just what you need to warm you up.
Food isn’t bad. It’s in a very touristy part of town, so if you want a genuine Irish experience, travel a little ways out. If you’re just in the area and want a bite to eat, it’s not bad. Hard to stand out in the area, there’s a lot to choose from.
The Old Mill is my type of place, Burgers, Bulmers and Ballads. We first stumbled across this place one Saturday afternoon back in College after just getting our grants and were very enamoured by the €10 lunch menu, being only a €10er we weren’t expecting much but my god we were taken aback by the food, big sexy juicy beef burger with cheese and topped off with an egg just for good measure, with a side of chunky chips served in a mini fryer type of thing with the nicest pepper sauce ever to accompany it, the sauce was so nice you’d nearly drink it. The cheap pints went down a treat too and the with the soundtrack being a mixture of The Dubliners, Wolfe Tones and the likes of Thin Lizzy before we knew it we were on the tipsy side and not too far off getting up on the tables for a dance and having ourselves a right aul hooley, so we left before things got too rowdy and headed over to tesco and emptied them out of 70cls and druids and the rest of the night is a bit of a blur, next time we came here we repeated the same process. The Old Mill can’t be bet!
