I stayed overnight in the Trinity City Hotel this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it; the hotel has seen a significant cash injection in recent years and offers a stylish, contemporary experience in a very central Dublin location. There are several food options – Trinity City Restaurant, Trinity City Bar and the Courtyard Garden – and we managed to sample all of them! Trinity City restaurant is a lovely intimate room seating 40 people max; it’s dripping with silver candelabras which, combined with giant wall mirrors and 1920s style lights fixtures help to create a really warm and lovely ambience. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed a 7 course tasting menu so sampled lots of it, from seabass to lamb to a chocolate taster plate dessert. The lamb was a particular highlight, served with goats cheese mash potatoes and a mini shepherds pie on the side – it was tender and very tasty. Cocktails in the bar was another highlight – the mojitos are spot on. All in all a lovely place for a meal, drinks with friends or indeed a cheeky wee overnight stay!
