Visited the restaurant at Finnstown Castle for the special Mothers Day lunch. Firstly the location and grounds are just stunning. They really went above and beyond to make the day special with a red carpet and a piano player in the dining room while we were eating. My Mam felt a million dollars. The food was equally stunning and very good value too. I had the chicken & mushroom vol au vent which was very good, the crispy duckling main was spectacular with the crispy skin done properly. Other members of my family had the crispy pork belly and the beef both of which were done very well.The service was excellent. The wait staff were very professional and friendly.I will definitely be back here again, it really was a fabulous day out.
A recent business trip to Ireland found us at this quite old school type restaurant. Quite different to the south African experience. The food was divine but too much. I had duck for starters (best duck ever ) which was a big enough portion for mains. And then I had lamb which was enough for two. So I rolled out without sampling their desserts. Out of the way for a regular trip to dublin but if you’re in the area well worth a visit.
I love Finnstown Hotel, starting for its lovely location and grounds, I had a great time at my wedding and their food was superb. The peacock restaurant has an international menu, however I am a fan of their duck and lamb/They also (the hotel) offer a great afternoon tea . Besides that Finnstown breakfast is an early morning feast.
Well this place is fancy as Iggy Azalea. On the way in for no reason at all there was an ostrich and two llamas (llamai? Llmates? Who knows?). The place is lovely very old school castle feel with nice decor. Soup and sandwiches was great with a wide selection of both can’t complain there! The drink also a wide selection of high class drinks. (No Tuborg or Druids in sight). Sure the drinks expensive but your paying for pure quality. Enjoyed my experience here good atmosphere, nice grounds and a nice pint!
