About
"Masseria Doganieri" is one of the most interesting farms of Salento Lecce, is located about 3 km from Galatone and about 6 km from Galatina, on the banks of the Asso Canal, corresponding to that of the Byzantine age houses Tabelle and Tabelluccio. The name is attributable to a customs post, that is to a step controlled by agents used to collect the tax rights on goods, and tolls on passengers in transit between the two feuds. You reach Masseria Doganieri from S.S. 101 Lecce-Gallipoli, coming out of the junction of Galatone and taking the first local road to the left after the level crossing, or from the city center of Galatone through the municipal road between Galatone and Galatina. The complex is located in an area of considerable archaeological and landscape value, it stands on the ruins of the medieval farmhouse of Tabelle, of which there are testimonies of frequentation since the XI century.
