After 7pm the private piazza bustles with a young, international crowd, seated at old 60's school desks and vintage armchairs. Low lights, good music, great food and service have made Area 8 a favourite in Matera. The 500 sqm complex has an in house-theatre in a cave, event and exhibit space and an exclusive clubhouse. Very busy, great atmosphere, lots of drink choices. Very friendly and attentive servers who clearly want you to enjoy your visit. We sat outside and seating was extremely comfortable.
We stumbled upon this gem just off the main drag in Matera. The bartender suggested the vodka sour with passion fruit and it was delicious. Very affordable and cute courtyard to sit in too! Five stars
Great place for original drinks, nice and cozy atmosphere! A bit vintage, some retro style and good spirits!! Awesome music and crowd
Great bar with fun decoration. On saturday night place is maybe overcrowded. Great for hanging with young people.
I attended a cocktail party here (that’s actually how I came across it). I LOVE the place. It has the best ambiance of any bar in Matera. Lovely to sit inside or out. Great for business meetings or just hanging out with friends.
