"Caupona" (means restaurant in Latin), just like in ancient Pompeii existed long cauponae 89, the most famous is that of Lucio Vetuzio Placido, one we faithfully reconstructed, perfectly decorated with hand-third style frescoes and meticulously reproduced, here for the first time, you can eat the typical Roman dishes taken from: "De Re conquinaria", the famous book of ancient recipes taken from chef Marco Gavius gastronome Apicius who lived at the time of Tiberius, also we offer good wine Pomepianorum, Fralernum, and "Mulsum" (Wine of the ancients, with ginger and honey, spices ...) eat in terracotta plates, goblets, vases, all as in ancient Pompeii ... Nestled along the wooden tables, soft lighting and a harmonious music will accompany you throughout lunch or dinner, you will hear the ancient tools like the lira and the cedra, everything to make you live a 'unique experience, unique ... just a stone's throw from 'entrance of the excavations ... where you can breathe the air of antiquity ...Details

Went there with our children. Had a great time. Adults ate their set Ancient Rome menu – delicious and really unusual flavours – children ordered separate dishes. Dress up in their togas. It’s awesome
For 20 euros for a main dish you get almost nothing. Although it is high quality portions are incredibly small. Count 40 euros per person with beverage (water) as a minimum. I believe it is not worth it.
