Born in 1932 as a shack for slush and syrups in the Piazza Grande and then later became the local Bar Schiavoni continues to be a focal point for the people of Modena and especially for the many tourists who come to visit the city. Remained for more than thirty years under the guidance of Giancarlo Ribaldi, inventor of specialty coffee, sandwiches or "special", four years ago the sisters Sarah and Chiara Fantoni have decided to buy the business by expanding and enriching. The bar, located near Mad XX Settembre and adjacent to the historic covered market Albinelli, was a special and unique place where you can find unique specialties created from them. Each season, the bar offers sandwiches Schiavoni different. This Month in their showcase you will find the sandwich with smoked swordfish, purple cabbage sauteed with mieie, pink pepper, raisins and orange. Or shrimp, pumpkin, radicchio and mushrooms. Or cream of Jerusalem artichokes and saffron with crispy bacon and smoked cheese melted. And of course the famous sandwich with slices of sausage in the oven degreased with green sauce, pumpkin cream and balsamic vinegar. Obviously fillings change often and are also created based on the preferences of the customer. As for the products used, Sara explains that quality is one of their priorities: "We often market-fresh and seasonal produce. Every Friday we offer organic food and we always try to buy at kilometer zero ". Also with regard to the wines, the focus was very much on quality. "We have several wines of the area - says Chiara - as Lambrusco di Paltrinieri ee Grasparossa we buy in Campogalliano. From next year we will also have different types of Champagne that we would like to match even the sausage. Great little find. Good coffee very reasonably priced and right next to the market for all the local produce you could want.
