About
La Selvina is located in the territory of Monte Porzio Catone, on the side of Tuscolo (on a natural terrace facing Rome, on the road from Frascati to Monte Porzio Catone) and borders on the ancient Villa Mondragone of the sixteenth century, which hosted Pope Gregory XIII and where he issued the Gregorian calendar reform bull in 1582. The buildings of the company have a rural architecture, which is well combined with the environment and the traditions of our countryside. Vineyards are cultivated with the old vines from which the famous Frascati Doc e Frascati Superiore Docg are produced. The selected grapes are manufactured with modern winemaking techniques; moreover, with the Syrah, Sangiovese, Cesanese, Montepulciano and Sauvignon grapes cultivated in the vineyards, I.G.P. Lazio and Castelli Romani Rosso are produced. Particular attention is paid to the cultivation of the Genazzano and Monte Porzio Catone olive groves, from which the homonymous extra virgin olive oil comes. Focusing on quality, La Selvina continues the ancient winemaking tradition of Frascati and the one of this olive-growing area. "La Selvina" extra virgin olive oil This oil is obtained by the cold pressing of the Frantoio, Leccino, Carbognola, Rosciola and Moragliolo olives, which are harvested manually. It is very fruity, full-bodied, rich in aromas and with low acidity. It is perfect with the dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine.
