  Why is Jerry Thomas in the world’s 50 best bars? It’s quite simple – this is the sexiest cocktail bar in the world. From the moment you make it past the the mysterious but intimidating door ritual, this bar will blow you away with its beauty. The wallpaper, the couches, the bar, even the bathroom. The staff do a great job managing this often-packed little speakeasy. The 3 barmen work wonders in their cramped stations behind the bar. Luca, one of the newer barmen at Jerry Thomas, told me can crank out 200 drinks in a given night. The drinks here are amazing. Try their smoked cocktail or Luca’s take on the Penicillin. I can’t wait to be back in Rome.

  Jerry thomas speakeasy is one of the best bars that i have ever been to. This place has an awesome early 1900s prohibition time theme to it. True to its name this speakeasy isnt easy to locate, it has a very normal gate as a facade, you need to ring a bell for one of the waiters to open the door.The drinks we had were very impressive, i had a couple of gin based cocktails and my wife had the knickerbocker, a rum based cocktail. The service was slow but we didnt mind as we were loving the ambience. The drinks are a little pricey but well worth it.

  Premessa: chi scrive è astemio. Quindi l’idea di un locale così rinomato che non abbia uno straccio di virgin mi ha fatto storcere il naso, soprattutto se entro già con la spesa di iscrizione al circolo, e esco con un’acqua tonica pagata la bellezza di dieci euro. Ma devo anche capire dove sono andato, e per quanto whisky e vermouth non siano esattamente le categorie merceologiche delle quali mi intendo di più non posso fare a meno di valutarlo in maniera alta. Il concept del secret bar – speakeasy è la tendenza del momento e rende ogni serata un’esperienza. Inoltre sono andato con tre amici barman e sembrava di averli portati a Mirabilandia.Non tanto per esperienza personale quanto per riflesso il mio giudizio sul locale è positivo.

  Se si ha la fortuna di entrare si viene catapultati in una altra epoca.Proibizionismo, locale fumoso, tinte (o carte) scure alle pareti.Locale molto piccolo, tante mini-sedute anche in tavoli condivisi.Personale cortese e cocktails da lacrima.Unica pecca: no credit cards.Piccolo bagno da visitare.#chapeau
