This hidden gem is tucked away in a more secluded side street in central Rome, so you will find that during your dining experience will be surrounded by what appears to be locals, rather than flocks of tourists. The service was prompt but not pushy and the menu was not too overwhelming. We ordered an appetiser of olive all’ascolana, followed by a spaghetti alla carbonara and a tagliolini gamberetti e gorgonzola. The meals were delicious, and very flavoursome. Paired with a 5 euro 1/2 L carafe of red and it made for a memorable dinner.
Situato in un ottima posizione, il cibo è eccellente e il personale molto ospitale. Ottimi anche i piatti di pesce, oltre che quelli di cucina romana. Lo consiglio.
Sant’Anna has a nice and warm decor and a quaint location down a small alley near the main roads. Service was polite but nothing special, and we ordered olives all’ascolana, tagliolini gamberetti e Gorgonzola and spaghetti alla carbonara. The pastas were both full flavoured and rich, and probably the best I’ve had in Italy to date. We also had a half carafe of red wine which was decent considering its price. All in all this venue is definitely worth a visit for passing travellers.
