Mangiare è naturale. La pizza buona è una nostra scelta.Ingredienti selezionati, impasto a lunga maturazione, pochi tipi e solo pizza.Una pizza ed un calzone che variano ogni settimana.Qualche dolce.Birre estere alla spina e in bottiglia.Vini italiani in caraffa o in bottiglia.
In a short stay in Rome I had read good things about this restaurant and I was not disappointed! On the walk there from our hotel things seemed a little dodgy but once we got there we were not disappointed. We were greeted nicely by the Italians there who refreshingly kind and genuinely caring not like waiters you get in tourist areas, but still spoke good English (they have English menus as well). After they explained how they age their dough for 72 hours which gives their base a unique fluffyness compared to other Italian pizza we were keen to order. We shared 3 pizza’s between 2 and all were absolutely delicious!! Our favourite was the potato but all were cooked to perfection and they base was nice and fluffy. The balance of the simple flavours with the base makes for truly delicious pizza in Italian style. This place is definitely worth the getting out of the touristy section of Rome for, and will deliver great food with a local and accommodating atmosphere. There is nothing more I could ask from an Italian pizza resutrant.
We were in quest to find a fantastic pizza in Italy. We tried two different pizzerias previously at places we found along the way in Florence, and they had been sadly disappointing. However, we didn’t give up. There had to be a great place out there! We had two places on our list for pizza to try in Rome that had been highly recommended. On our last night in Italy, we made up our mind that we just had to go. We wanted to try Sforno but it seemed so far away. The other one on the list was Farinè. I called and made reservation and off we went! This was rather far too from our hotel and our taxi didn’t even seem to know where it was. After a pretty long cab ride that was luckily on flat rate, we arrived at Farinè. The area looked a little sketchy and we honestly were afraid and about to change our mind. There were just empty alley ways with lots of graffitis, and some young kids congregating. However, we walked towards the restaurant and braved it out.The restaurant was actually nice and casual cozy. We sat down and were given the small menu of just pizza. This was definitely different than pizzeria in the U.S. There was no crust style to choose or toppings to pick. They had about 9 to 10 different pizza varieties of set toppings, and all you choose was the variety and size. We ordered six different pizzas at small size so we could try as many variants. A couple other variants were overlapping so we got the six variants that were truly unique. We ordered the marinara, Margherita, one with tomato sauce and anchovies, Mediterranea with olive toppings, potatoes and onion, and chicory and asiago.Between the three of us, we all had our own fave but all of us loved the chicory and asiago the best. It was great! The crust was awesome and all of the pizzas were delicious. We were finally happy eating pizza. Coming from Chicago originally where pizza is a staple, we really had to pay homage to the Italian pizza and our faith was restored here at Farinè. It’s definitely different than American pizza and yes, the Americans made their own versions, but some were really delicious too. You wouldn’t find thick slab of sausage in Italian pizza, or melted ropy cheese. In fact, at Farinè, the only pizza that had an animal protein was just the one with anchovies. Everything else were vegetarians. Their pizzas were simple, with clean basic flavors and great crust. It was different than what I’m used to but delicious nonetheless. I do miss the cheese though. That’s probably we loved the chicory and asiago as it was more cheesy. We had so much fun trying pizza here and having an adventure going off the beaten path of where tourists usually would be. It was awesome and I appreciated the fact that they cut the pizza. The one we had in Florence was a soggy mess and uncut. That was not fun trying to cut a soggy crust.Farinè la Pizza! Vai vai vai!!
