A great night out at Shawn’s local Osteria and wow, was it good. The food and service were perfect and even in late September, it was a warm, summery evening, one of those magical Roman nights. We had antipasti to start, mine were delicious crisp anchovy fritters. Then pastas: mine was paccheri with a rich oxtail sauce. Delicious! The chickory on the side was tasty (and unusual, for a non-Italian like me) and the wine, from Puglia, a negroamaro, was inexpensive but a great match for our food. And to finish, a selection of amari. What could be better? Not likely that tourists will be able to find this restaurant, hidden away from the main streets, but if you get the chance to come here, take it! You won’t be disappointed.
