Hidden in a small street off Garibaldi, and frequented mainly by locals in the know, this is a family run pearl. The family takes real pride in their work. The food is great and they will find you an outstanding wine to go with it.
The restaurant Au Café is absolutely recommendable. We enjoyed a delicious lunch on the last day of our stay i Genova. The food was well-prepared, the wine was good, and the service was excellent.
The pesto alla genoveze has a bitterness to it, which could be fixed with some addition of Parmesan, garlic etc. Apart from that the food was good, as the service and the prices. Loss of star for the bitterness and the missing drinks price list.
Stop for Lunch. Charming host who spoke English. Dishes were well prepared. The deserts were sublime.
We really enjoyed the food here. Everything was freshly made and tasted delicious. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this eatery.
