Dinner with friends this summer on a week night. The restaurant was not full, the a/c was not running properly but one of the owners was super nice and accommodating and helped us find a nice table, even moving us twice, where the a/c was better. He explained the menu, suggested the specials (the ‘cuopo Vesù’, the ‘palla al centro’ and the bruschette as starters to share), the wine and was nice to talk to. The food was good and the portions were hearty (and prices adequate); the starters were actually too much for the 4 of us, my favorite was the palla al centro, a dish consisting of a big mozzarella in the center of the plate surrounded by vegetables: carrots, cabbage, friarielli, eggplant, etc, the mozzarella was yummy and the vegetables were a good match. After the starters I had the ‘spaghetti allo scoglio’ (seafood pasta) which was ok but nothing special (perhaps even a tiny bit salty).Wine was poured and poured, we talked and talked, were never rushed (also because there were tables available for some walk-ins, even at 10.30 pm!) and in all had a nice time at Vesù, we’ll surely be back.

Il cibo è sempre risultato di buona qualità , i piatti sono abbondanti e di buona fattura. Ultimamente anche la scelta dei vini mi è parsa migliorata. Manca un po’ di verve ed è un peccato perché il rapporto qualità -prezzo è molto buono.
Non posso che dare un giudizio negativo. Sono entrata in questo piccolo locale attratta proprio dall’atmosfera intima e calda e invece ha completamente disatteso ogni aspettativa! Servizio pessimo, il cibo nulla di che. Mi spiace, pensavo di trovare la tipica accoglienza del Sud!!!
