We had a 50% discount on the final bill thanks to The Fork and picked this place out of many others adhering to this offer. The owner is from Süd Tirol, an Italian region next to the Austrian border. His wife is Sicilian. The antipodes of Italy, basically. As we entered the place, a strong smell of rotting fish hit our nostrils. First star gone. The waiter who welcomed us was a doll, the owner a total grinch, shooting us nasty looks. He’s the main reason for a 2-star review. Holy cow, don’t participate to initiatives like these, you’ll end up losing customers by mortifying them, sucker!Menu was absurdly high priced for the kitschy location, strangely full of horse paraphernalia & fish stench. Half a bottle of Gewürztraminer thrown on our table, opened and left there with a grunt by the owner, no tasting first. 12 euros for the sucker, half a miserable bottle of wine without a cork but with screw cap. Horror!! Given the stench, we obviously went for the Tirolese menu (no fish).€ 15 for a platter of a tiny piece of foie gras just out of the fridge (had to wait for it to reach room temperature), scanty slices of smoked goose ham and plain crostini. Good but nothing to die for. My filet with truffles & foie gras was truly excellent. A dish to remember also by its price, 28 euros. Dessert: I immodestly can make a much better Apfelstrudel than the one we shared. My mate’s dish (pappardelle with lard and truffles was totally tasteless). We paid only €36 in the end,but without a 50% discount it would have been a total ripoff. Exiting the place, we had to say bye to the owner, shouldn’t it be the other way around? This review is written for tourists visiting Milan, you folks have been warned.
