Andrea Mattioli conceived "Matt's" in 2003 with the intent of enriching the Marina di Portisco with an entertainment venue and a restaurant service of high quality, courtesy, comfort, and professionalism, as well as a large range of culinary proposals and entertainment choices. For such a high-profile concept it was only natural to select the most central and panoramic location in the marina, where the actual organization of the concept takes the form of three distinct but united structures that develop on two levels thus taking advantage of the natural landscape. The lower floor accommodates Matt's Mare, a restaurant equipped with a very large shaded terrace surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, and gazebos that reach the water. It is a very intimate and comfortable place where to rest and taste a complete meal or enjoy a rich aperitif accompanied by chill-out music. The upper floor accommodates Matt's Caf, which can be accessed both by the dock's water-front promenade and by the upper floor's parking places. Matt's Caf boasts a wood-burning oven and a charcoal-fire grill as well as the most panoramic location in the marina. It offer the opportunity of dining open-air on the large terrace surrounded by the local vegetation, or dining under the covered space where small terraces guarantee the ideal privacy for romantic dinners. Besides the high quality of its cuisine, its furnishings oriented to the maximum comfort, and the professionalism and hospitality of its personnel, Matt's offers multiple entertainment opportunities. Within the premises of Matt's Caf a room has been reserved to a large billiard table, and during the whole summer period the terrace hosts special events, temporary and permanent art exhibitions, and live music acts ranging from lounge bar during dinner time to concerts.
