Al Casale Vecchio Torchio The farmhouse "Al Vecchio Torchio del Casale " was born from the restoration of an old millstone located in a farm in the heart of the countryside of the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia , in the district of " Pietramarina ," the SP 7II Castiglione - Verzella . Nestled between the slopes of the northern slope of Mount Etna and the Alcantara valley , on a hill from which you can enjoy beautiful rural landscapes , the company covers an area of about three hectares of vineyards , olive groves and orchards , whose products are strictly used for the preparation of delicious dishes . In the building are derived dining establishments and three comfortable rooms for an overnight stay , each with bathroom and air-conditioning and television . The hotel has a large outdoor spaces for recreation of children , gazebos and tables for relaxing outdoor dining. The peculiarities of the place and the scrupulous attention of the owners in the preparation of tasty dishes, using local raw materials and carefully selected, make the farm an ideal place for relaxing and joyful days away from the hubbub of the city. The presence of domestic animals in the wild in the large oak grove adjacent to the restaurant , are a pleasant surprise for the kids and those who appreciate their joyful wanderings . I stayed at this agriturismo on a recent holiday and found it excellent. The room was spacious and the bathroom also. The view from my window of Mount Etna was lovely. The food was also excellent and the owners very helpful and friendly.
We went for a dinner and came back through out the weekend.Food was awesome although we missed tasting the meats because maybe off there’s no meat during off-season.We had great pizzas, great starters and yummy deserts.Personnel was helpful and all-right English.
Tagliatelle con porcini -very goodInvoltini- very good.Pizza- good.Housewine was not the best- but there are plenty good wines you can order.We’ve been there twice and would go there again. Decent agritourismo food -no fancy molecular gastronomy.
