Gelateria Nivera was listed in 2015, 2016, 2017 among the best 100 traditional gelaterie in Italy and was named as one of the best by several gastronomic websites. In 2014 it became part of the Artisti del Gelato network. It has received many tokens of approval from clients and professionals thanks to the originality and the freshness and genuineness of the flavours of its gelati. Professionalism and passion characterise the handmade production, the choice of local ingredients such as fresh milk, Val di Noto almonds, Hyblaean ricotta and seasonal fruit every day. The name Nivera comes from the"niviere", the old stone ice houses which were used to conserve snow and ice in winter, preserving their authenticity and purity. For this reason, all the ingredients used by Nivera for its gelati are sourced from local farms, respecting the seasons and are worked without using chemical thickeners but only natural thickeners such as carob seed flour.
